Position : Public Health Specialist (Surveillance)
Education : Degree of Doctor of medicine (MD) plus Masters in Public health (MPH) and/or Ph.D. in Epidemiology is required with senior-level public health experience in the management and development of epidemiological surveillance and/or large scale surveys of HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, or care programs are required, out of which 1 year of experience at the managerial level is required
Competence:-
– Level IV (Fluent) Reading/Writing/Speaking English & Amharic is required
– Strong analytic skills with experience in epidemiology, biostatistics, monitoring & evaluation, etc. are required
– Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work constructively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team structure
– Ability to make clear convincing presentations, explain and justify recommendations and represent PEPFAR-E and provide expert advice on critical and complex issues, principles, concepts, methods and techniques of public health informatics
– Have demonstrated ability to investigate and proven methods for improving data quality in monitoring systems, and good ability to write conceptual and operational plans
– Ability to manage time well and meet tight deadlines
– Demonstrated ability to communicate both orally and in writing to make clear, convincing arguments (These may be tested)
