Job description
Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) would like to hire applicants for the Regional Integrated Health System Strengthening (IHSS) Officer Position.
The Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) is responsible for the implementation of the Integrated Health System Strengthening Project of AMREF to be implemented in Chifra, Gewane, and Telalak Woredas of Afar regional state.
To strengthen the IHSS and expand its successful implementation, EPHA is thrilled to announce a fantastic opportunity to join our organization as a Regional IHSS Integrated Health System Strengthening (IHSS) Officer.
Job Purpose / Position Overview:
The Regional IHSS Officers will play a key role in implementing health systems strengthening initiatives at the /Woreda / local level. These positions require individuals with a strong commitment to community health, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Engagement: Engage with local communities to understand their healthcare needs and priorities.
- Program Implementation: Implement health systems strengthening programs at the Woreda level in alignment with national health policies.
- Data Collection: Collect and analyze health data to inform decision-making and evaluate the impact of health interventions.
- Training and Capacity Building: Conduct training sessions for healthcare workers and community health volunteers to enhance their skills in health systems strengthening.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare providers, NGOs, and government agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to healthcare delivery.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor the progress of health systems strengthening initiatives and prepare regular reports for stakeholders.

Job requirements
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, health officer, or another health-related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in health systems strengthening and program management and or experience working in public health or community health.
- Good understanding of health systems and healthcare delivery.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned Woreda.

- Primary healthcare unit transformation
- Good Governance Index Training – Advantageous
- Public Health Emergency Management training – Advantageous
- Leadership, Management, and Governance Training – Mandatory
- Human Resource Management (HRM) and I-HRIS training – Advantageous
