1. Position: Physiotherapy

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive physical assessments to diagnose and identify patient needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing various physiotherapy techniques, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, electrotherapy, and modalities.
  • Educate and empower patients to manage their conditions independently through self-management strategies.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Document patient progress and treatment notes accurately and efficiently.

2. Position: General Surgeon

 

Duties / Responsibilities
Curative/Clinical

·   Overall in charge of the Surgical OPD & admitted patients.

·   Conducts Surgical OPD regularly on notified days and time.

·   Reviews referrals by physicians and from the lower facilities to establish diagnosis and proper management.

·   Plans and performs surgeries on specified days & time as per hospital policy.

·   Performs emergency surgeries on patients admitted through A & E Department as & when required.

·   Writes post-operative notes and post-operative instructions of each case.

·   Takes ONE PLANNED ROUND of the wards DAILY along with all the departmental doctors and staff nurse to review/follow-up the old cases and examines in detail the newly admitted. Round is repeated with or without MO in charge of the ward if so required.

·   Supervises and ensures preparation of OT list by the MO/WMO.

·   Ensures that treatment prescribed is being administered to the patients.

·   Ensures availability of medicines / functioning of equipment to handle emergencies at all times in the A & E Department if entrusted by the head of the institution.

·   Attends the patients with surgical problems admitted in other wards as and when requested.

·   Explains the patients about the use and effects of prescribed drugs.

·   Refers the patients to other specialists within the hospital and/or to higher level facilities if needed.

Preventive / Promotive

· Ensures compliance of SOPs particularly on Infection Control and Waste Management in the OPD, Surgical Ward.

· Ensures that instruments/equipment being used in examinations and procedures is properly sterilized.

 

· Ensures that all staff participating in the procedures is physically well protected by wearing of proper dress i.e. Gowns, Masks, Caps, Gloves and shoes.

· Provides educational information about Common diseases and ways to promote physical health.

Rehabilitative

· Provides physical, psychological rehabilitative measures to patients if required.

· Recommends physiotherapy and other rehabilitative measures to needy patients.

Teaching / Supervision

· Trains Medical, Nursing and Paramedical Staff as per Departmental/ Specialty requirements/ Protocols and work instructions.

·    Involves in the teaching, mentoring and examination of Bethel medical college      students when assigned by coordinators.

General

· Remains on call after working hours.

· Checks the punctuality of the staff attached to his section.

· Checks the cleanliness and up keep of the unit.

· Ensures the preparation and implementation of the duty roster for his unit.

· Ensures that responsible staff regularly upkeeps & maintains electro-medical equipment of the unit to ensure their functionality at all the time.

· Ensures that responsible staff is regular in supply/replenishment of medicines & stores.

· Provides technical assistance for purchase of new equipment’s / instruments needed from time-to-time for the unit.

· Writes Objective Performance Evaluation Reports of subordinate staff.

· Performs outreach duties to lower facilities as required.

· Performs any other professional duty which may be assigned by the MS from time to time.

3. Position: X-ray technician

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing patients for X-ray examinations: This includes explaining the procedure, positioning the patient on the X-ray table, and protecting the patient from radiation exposure.
  • Operating X-ray equipment: X-ray technicians must be able to safely and effectively operate a variety of X-ray machines, including fixed and portable units. They must also be able to adjust the settings on the machine to produce high-quality images.
  • Taking X-ray images: X-ray technicians must be able to correctly position the X-ray beam and capture clear images of the desired area of the body.
  • Evaluating X-ray images: After taking an X-ray, the technician will review the image to ensure that it is of sufficient quality for diagnosis. They may also need to retake the image if it is not clear.
  • Maintaining X-ray equipment: X-ray technicians are responsible for keeping the X-ray equipment clean and in good working order. This includes performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting any problems that may arise.

4. Position: Anesthetist

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preoperative evaluation: Before surgery, the anesthetist will meet with the patient to discuss their medical history, any medications they are taking, and any allergies they may have. They will also perform a physical examination to assess the patient’s overall health and fitness for surgery.
  • Developing an anesthesia plan: Based on the preoperative evaluation, the anesthetist will develop a plan for how to administer anesthesia during surgery. This plan may include using a combination of different medications and techniques, such as general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, or local anesthesia.
  • Administering anesthesia: During surgery, the anesthetist will carefully monitor the patient’s vital signs and adjust the anesthesia medication as needed to ensure that the patient remains pain-free and unconscious.

.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • check prescriptions for errors, ensuring they’re appropriate and safe for the individual patient
  • provide advice on the dosage of medicines and the most appropriate form of medication, which could be by tablet, injection, ointment or inhaler
  • participate in ward rounds to take patient drug histories
  • liaise with other medical staff on problems patients may experience when taking their medicines

·   Writes post-operative notes and post-operative instructions of each case.
