non-degree exchange that brings accomplished mid-career professionals to the United States for an academic year of graduate-level study, leadership

Research readiness: Candidates must have a research background
in the field or demonstrate the ability to interpret and apply current
research findings.
Strict Qualifications
- Age: 32–45 years (inclusive) at the time of application.
- Experience: At least five years of full-time professional
experience after university graduation (before August 2025). - Leadership & policy roles: Current management or policy
responsibilities (university lecturers/EFL teachers qualify if involved in
institutional or policy work). - Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
- English proficiency: Strong written & spoken English;
willingness to sit the TOEFL
if shortlisted. - Employer endorsement: Letter of support confirming a leave
of absence for the fellowship year. - Citizenship/residency: Ethiopian citizens or permanent
residents eligible for an Ethiopian passport. - Family policy: The fellowship does not allow
accompanying family members.

- Gather your documents (in English):
- Curriculum Vitae summarizing experience & achievements.
- Program Plan outlining goals and expected outcomes.
- Personal Statement (motivation and professional vision).
- Two Recommendations — one from your current employer.
- Undergraduate/graduate transcripts (scanned copies).
- Complete the online form at
https://apply.iie.org/huberthhumphrey. - Upload all materials before 31 July 2025. Original transcripts
are required only if you reach the interview stage. - Await shortlisting and interviews by the U.S. Embassy Public Diplomacy Section.
- Take the TOEFL (if requested) and secure final approvals.
