Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia was established in 1974 G.C. by Drs. Catherine and Reginald Hamlin. Including our main Fistula Hospital in Addis Ababa, we have five regional hospitals, a rehabilitation and reintegration center, and the Hamlin College of Midwives.
The Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia invites applicants for the following position:
Job Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Lecturer in Midwifery to join our dynamic academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, supporting students, conducting research, and contributing to the development of the Midwifery program. The role will involve teaching across a range of undergraduate modules, as well as contributing to the advancement of the discipline through research, professional practice, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Learning:
- Deliver high-quality teaching across a variety of midwifery courses and modules.
- Design, develop, and update curriculum materials in accordance with the latest best practices and academic standards.
- Supervise students in clinical settings and on placements, ensuring they are receiving appropriate hands-on training.
- Provide constructive feedback on assignments, examinations, and other assessments.
- Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment that supports the academic and professional development of students.
- Coordinate and lead seminars, lectures, and practical sessions in midwifery.
- Mentor and guide students in their research projects.
- Conduct regular office hours and individual consultations with students.
Research & Scholarship:
- Conduct independent research in midwifery or related fields.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
- Contribute to the development of research projects, collaborations, and funding opportunities within the field of midwifery.
Professional Development:
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay up-to-date with developments in midwifery education, clinical practice, and research.
- Participate in college meetings, academic committees, and other institutional activities.
Administrative & Other Duties:
- Contribute to college-wide initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of education.
- Assist with the recruitment and induction of new students.
- Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.
