Job description

Organizational Background

HUNDEE-Oromo Grassroots Development Initiative, a local NGO established in 1995,
is deeply committed to promoting equality and upholding the dignity of all human
beings. This commitment is reflected in its vision of "human dignity and prosperity." The
organization views poverty not just as a lack of material resources but also as an
imbalance of power in social, economic, and political realms. Poverty impacts
everyone—women, men, boys, and girls—differently, with variations based on factors
such as gender, age, socioeconomic status, education, and disability. HUNDEE’s
strategic focus spans five key program areas: (1) Food Security and Agricultural
Development, (2) Community Mobilization and Citizen Engagement, (3) Child, Youth,
and Women Development, (4) Livelihoods, Resilience Building, and Humanitarian
Response, and (5) Health, WaSH, and Nutrition. Operating in 12 zones of Oromia
National Regional State, the organization partners with diverse donors, including
German Agro Action (GAA), Kerk in Actie (KiA)/Cordaid, USAID/ISHDO,
Cafod/Sciaf/Trocaire (CST), Kindernothilfe (KNH), World Bank/MA, Dan Church Aid
(DCA), CGWE, UN/OCHA, Christian Aid Ethiopia (CAE), Mercy Corps, Agricultural
Transformation Institute (ATI)/Caster Card Foundation, and other foundations. In line
with its mission, HUNDEE has secured funding from Gavi to address critical gaps in
immunization coverage. Collaborating with the Oromia Development Association (ODA)
in a consortium, HUNDEE aims to expand immunization services to zero-dose and
under-vaccinated children in conflict-affected zones of Horo Gudru in the Oromia
