Vacancy Announcement

 

EOC-DICAC is a recognized & licensed non-profit charitable local NGO working for the benefit of vulnerable communities in Ethiopia to attain self-reliance by tackling the root causes of poverty, migration, climate change, conflict, public health illiteracy problems by promoting sustainable development programs. Since in 1972, EOC-DICAC has been engaged in development and humanitarian interventions all over the country. Therefore, EOC-DICAC would like to invite dynamic and creative applicant for the following vacant post

 

Scope of Work

 

  • At the woreda level, the Immunization TA will work closely with the Woreda Health Office, supporting immunization activities and capacity-building initiatives to meet project goals. Key responsibilities include:
  • Immunization Program Support: Contribute to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of immunization activities to the health office.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Facilitating and participating in the training sessions for health workers and community volunteers on immunization practices.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Implement monitoring systems to track immunization coverage and assess program effectiveness; prepare regular reports for the project wereda,  zonal/Regional coordinator.
  • Community Engagement: Work with local leaders and organizations to promote immunization awareness and address vaccine hesitancy.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with woreda  health office, NGOs, and other partners working on immunization activities to strengthen immunization efforts. 
  • Supports the Cold Chain and Logistics and facilitate the cold chain systems to ensure vaccine quality, and carry out other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

 

Deliverables

 

  • Detailed micro plans for immunization campaigns within the woreda, focusing on identifying and reaching zero-dose children.
  • Weekly and monthly progress reports on immunization activities, data collection, and community outreach results.
  • Documented improvements in cold chain management and logistical support for vaccine distribution at the woreda level.
  • Completion of at least one targeted immunization outreach campaign per quarter within the assigned woreda.

 

Report to: The project coordinator and to the Woreda Health Office

 

Location: In one of the following werdas: Alee, Konso zuria, Basketo, Burji, North Ari, South Ari, Wuba Ari, Malee,

Benatsemay, Gnagatom districts.  Woreda Level of Southern Ethiopia regional State.

 

No of Vacant Post: Ten (10)

 

Salary and benefits:  Negotiable

Job requirements

 

Job Requirements

 

  • MPH/BSC degree in Public Health, Nursing, or a related field.
  • Experiences – A minimum of 3 years’ for BSC or 1 year for MPH, in immunization programs, with direct experience working at the woreda or community level.
  • Proficiency with data collection and microplanning tools, with a solid understanding of immunization logistics.
  • Demonstrated experience in community health engagement and outreach, particularly in rural or mobile population settings.
  • Strong communication skills and knowing local languages is a plus.
