Job Summary

The Ethiopian Public Health Institute’s (EPHI) National Training Centre (NTC) is dedicated to enhancing the capacity of the public health workforce through high-quality training programs. NTC plays a pivotal role in addressing key health challenges and improving public health outcomes by offering training venues, conducting needs assessments, developing training modules, and delivering accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs. Collaborating with various EPHI directorates, the NTC aims to foster continuous learning and professional development within the public health sector.

NTC comprises three divisions: Training Quality Control, Registrar Library and Documentation, and Training Coordination. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Training Facilitation Officer to join the Training Coordination Division. Reporting to the Division Head, the officer will contribute to the planning, development, and delivery and facilitation of competency-based training programs, ensuring adherence to quality standards and promoting continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Training Program Development and Delivery:
  • Conduct comprehensive training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and priorities.
  • Develop detailed training plans and curricula aligned with organizational goals and learner needs.
  • Support the design and development of engaging training materials, including presentations, handouts, and e-learning modules.
  • Facilitate interactive, learner-cantered training sessions using diverse instructional techniques.
  • Adapt training content and delivery methods to meet the needs of various target audiences.
  1. Monitoring and Evaluation:
  • Develop and implement robust frameworks to assess training program effectiveness.
  • Collect and analyse data on participant satisfaction, knowledge acquisition, and skill development.
  • Utilize evaluation findings to continuously improve training programs and delivery methods.
  1. Collaboration and Partnership
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, program managers, and stakeholders to ensure the quality and relevance of training programs.
  • Build strong relationships with external partners to facilitate knowledge sharing and resource mobilization.
  1. Administrative Tasks
  • Manage training logistics, including scheduling, participant registration, and resource allocation.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and evaluation results.
  • Prepare comprehensive training reports with key findings and actionable recommendations.

Job requirements

 

Essential Qualifications, Skills,  Experience and Requirements 

  • BSc degree in health professions.
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in training and facilitation, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both oral and written).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience developing and delivering e-learning courses is an advantage.
