Job Description
YooKoo MCH Specialty Center is a private health institution delivering health care service at its full capacity for the last one and half year.The center has been recruiting qualified health care professional to fill its human resource needs. Accordingly, here under the center is looking for qualified midwifery nursing staffs to meet the required position
About the position:
Midwifery practice requires teamwork, an on-going interaction between members of the multidisciplinary team, the patients, patients’ relatives and centre managers. It is also very important for the midwifery staffs to be familiar with the rules and regulation of the centre, other standard operating procedure and code of conduct and related disciplinary measures.
KEY AREAS OF DUTIES and responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care for laboring mother and post-natal at the center
- Discuss emphatically with the client/patient course of the labor.
- Utilize, clean and maintain labor ward equipment
- Administer ordered medication appropriately and timely
- Obtain a specimen of blood for laboratory tests.
- Counselling on IYCF packages including advice and support for breast feeding
- Attend OR and provide essential newborn care
- Perform CTG monitoring
- Identify danger signs of pregnancy and during labor and act accordingly
- Inform the obstetrician promptly if any progress /changes in the client/patient’s condition.
- If needed she/he will go with ambulance to bring laboring mother/ Emergency patients
- When needed, discharge additional duties and responsibilities assigned
Job requirements
Required Qualification:
- BSc degree in midwifery from a recognized higher institution
- 2 years of experience in clinical care
- Renewed professional license to practice nursing profession in Ethiopia
- Desirable qualities, skills and competences (BemONC and CemONC)
- Excellent communication skills with patients and staffs
- Able present release letter
