Job Summary:
OWS Development Fund is seeking four experienced Zonal Technical Advisors (TA) to provide technical assistance to the Ethiopia Ministry of Health’s Immunization Programme through Gavi’s Technical Cooperation Assistance (TCA) funding. The successful candidates will work across the Fafan and Sitti zones of Somali Region, ensuring effective immunization service delivery and contributing to improved primary healthcare (PHC) outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support zonal and Woreda health departments in identifying, reaching, and monitoring zero-dose children in prioritized Woredas.
- Assist with micro-planning and mapping of zero-dose children and missed communities in high-priority areas.
- Identify capacity gaps within local partners and provide technical assistance to strengthen project implementation.
- Participate in and support multi-age catch-up vaccination campaigns.
- Provide technical support for new vaccine introductions and scale-ups, including Yellow Fever and Hepatitis B BD.
- Plan, implement, and monitor COVID-19 and HPV vaccinations in conflict-affected areas.
- Contribute to demand creation activities, particularly those addressing barriers related to gender and immunization.
- Conduct field monitoring, data analysis, and regular reporting on immunization outcomes in the target zones.
- Act as a focal person for CCRDA/CGPP/OWS Development Fund on vaccine-related work in the region.
- Document success stories, prepare presentations, and contribute to activity reports and briefs.
- Conduct joint supportive supervision sessions and provide regular feedback.

Job requirements
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, Nursing, or a related health field.
- A master’s degree in public health (MPH) or MSc is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in immunization and maternal/child health programs.
- Proven experience in vaccine delivery, planning, coordination, and monitoring.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word) and statistical software (e.g., Epi Info, SPSS, STATA).
- Experience using mobile data collection tools (e.g., ODK).
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, in English. Proficiency in Somali is mandatory.
- Ability to travel to health facilities in Woreda-level project areas.
- Excellent time management, planning, and presentation skills.
- Practical experience in providing on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring.
