Introduction
The Government of the Czech Republic offers scholarships within the framework of its Foreign Development Assistance in support of the study of foreign nationals from developing countries listed below at public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic. The deadline for submitting applications for the academic year 2025/2026 is on 30 September 2024.
Granting scholarships to citizens from developing countries for studies at Czech public higher education institutions (referred to as “universities”) is an important part of the foreign development cooperation of the Czech Republic and has a long tradition. From the late 1950s to the present day over 20 000 foreign nationals have completed their studies at Czech universities with a scholarship of the Government of the Czech Republic
Czech Government Scholarships for International Students 2025-26:

Program Duration:
The duration of the Czech scholarship in Europe for international students depends upon the program, you get yourself enrolled into.
- Czech Language Programs:
- Follow-up Master’s study program in selected areas of study: 2-3 years.
- Language and preparatory study program: 1 year.
- English Language Programs:
- Follow-up Master’s study program: 2 years.
- Doctoral study program: 3-4 years.

Eligibility Criteria of the Czech Government Scholarships in Europe:
- Applicants from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, Zambia and Belarus (democratic forces). can apply.
- Citizens of the Czech Republic, the European Union, and residents of the Czech Republic are not eligible.
- The graduates of a Bachelor’s degree can apply for the follow-up Master’s Program (instructions are given in the Czech language) in selected areas of study, with the one-year preparatory course in the Czech Language.
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degree holders can apply for the Follow-up Master’s programs or Doctoral programs, where instructions are given in the English language.
- The entrance test is required by the university.
- Specific Language proficiency is required.
How to Apply for the Czech Government Scholarships 2025-26?
- Each applicant is obliged to fill in an electronic application form at the latest by 30 September 2024. The successful applicant starts studying in the academic year 2025/2026.
- Fill the form in the Roman alphabet, if possible. Otherwise, you can fill it up in English or Czech language.
- Put the assigned application identification number in the right corner.
- Paste the photo in a designated place.
- Fill up all the boxes appropriately.
- Upload the motivation letter, reflecting your interest to pursue the particular degree program.
- Complete your application form carefully and send the printed signed copy to the Government of the Czech Republic.

The two copies of the below-mentioned documents against the specific degree/s are required for general applicants:
- For Follow-up Master’s Study Program:
- Application form.
- CV, demonstrating educational and work experience.
- Copy of passport.
- Declaration about the acceptance of terms and conditions of the scholarship.
- Declaration about the acceptance of terms and conditions of the Health Services.
- Affirmation of return to the home country after completion of studies.
- Legalized copy of the birth certificate (translated into the Czech language).
- Medical health confirmation (not more than 2 months old).
- Legalized copy of a foreign diploma or Bachelor’s degree program (with a certified translation in the Czech language).
- Legalized copy of diploma supplement or list of completed subjects or examinations (with a certified translation in the Czech language).
- Additional information about the content of foreign university education.
- For Doctoral Study Program:
- Application form.
- CV, demonstrating educational and work experience.
- Copy of passport.
- Declaration about the acceptance of terms and conditions of the scholarship.
- Declaration about the acceptance of terms and conditions of the Health Services.
- Affirmation of return to the home country after completion of studies.
- Legalized copy of the birth certificate (translated into the Czech language).
- Medical health confirmation (not more than 2 months old).
- Legalized copy of a foreign diploma or Bachelor’s degree program (with a certified translation in the Czech language)
- Legalized copy of diploma supplement or list of completed subjects or examinations (with a certified translation in the Czech language).
- Additional information about the content of foreign university education.
- Overview of publication.
- Overview of the topics, you wish to continue your research upon.
- Ideas about the dissertation thesis in 3 to 5 pages.
- 2 letters of recommendation by your professors.
The two copies of the following documents against the specific degree are required for regular students of Czech Republic universities:
- For Follow-up Master’s Study Program:
- Application form.
- CV, demonstrating educational and work experience.
- Copy of passport.
- Declaration about the acceptance of terms and conditions of the scholarship.
- Declaration about the acceptance of terms and conditions of the Health Services.
- Affirmation of return to the home country after completion of studies.
- Legalized copy of the birth certificate (translated into the Czech language).
- Medical health confirmation (not more than 2 months old).
- Study confirmation issues by your own university.
- Documents, exhibiting your results of studies up to date.
- For Doctoral Study Program:
- Overview of the topics, you wish to continue your research upon.
- Letter of recommendation by your professors or supervisors.
- Documents, exhibiting your qualifications advancement and scholarly or scientific study to date.
Czech Government Scholarships Application Deadline:
