Introduction
Applicants are invited to submit applications for the MPH programme with special interest in tobacco control. The MPH offered by the School of Health System and Public Health is a 12-24 months full-time program that utilises distance based learning and face-to-face teaching modalities, depending on the module. All costs related to the course and reasonable living expenses while in SA will be covered by the scholarship and selected students will be required to attend compulsory MPH classes.

As an intended target by the Africa Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) and ATIM’s Building Capacity in Industry Monitoring for Effective Tobacco Control Advocacy in Africa (BETA), the following countries are eligible to apply.
Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mauritania, Nigeria, DRC, Senegal, Uganda, Zambia and South Africa.
*Note: Applicants must show proof of online application for the UP-MPH program in order to be considered for the ATIM-BETA MPH scholarship.

Requirements
Minimum admission requirements: (All qualification must be equivalent to SAQA NQF Level 08)
PGDip (Public Health) or equivalent with an average of at least 60% or equivalent learning (study for nondegree purposes or equivalent coursework at another institution) provided that the applicant is in possession of a:
(i) Relevant honours degree or
(ii) relevant four-year bachelor’s degree and at least two years’ applicable practical (work) experience or
(iii) relevant three-year bachelor’s degree and at least five years’ applicable practical (work) experience.

Kindly note that meeting the minimum requirements as stated above does not guarantee acceptance to the program. Applicants are ranked according to a departmental scoring system and applicants with highest score are selected.
Please note: ATIM works closely with the University of Pretoria to coordinate candidate selection processes. Acceptance to MPH program is required to be considered for the ATIM scholarship, However, acceptance into the MPH programme offered by the University does not guarantee receipt of the ATIM scholarship.
Note: Application submitted without SAQA evaluation certificate will not be accepted.
