Job description

Job Summary

Power to You(th) program is currently working to implement pilot project/activities to address school-related gender-based violence (SRGBV) in North Shewa zone of Amhara region. The pilot project was designed through Human Centered Design process. To successfully manage the project activities, Amref health Africa is looking for one dedicated personnel who will conduct the project activities. The Project assistance will assist the planning, implementation and monitoring of Human centered design (Tackling GBV in Schools project Will be responsible for the Overall implementation of the project in Debre Birhan implementation schools.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Participate in planning and periodic evaluations of the project, partnership and review meetings and conferences, as required;
  • Develop and maintain trust and good relationships between Amref Health Africa, school Admins, Teachers and Students by working in collaboration with the respective sector institutions, collaborating agencies, volunteers’ workers and communities in the project area.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports against the planned achievements and submit to the project coordinator
  • Provide trainings and technical assistance for students, teachers and school admin
  • Participate in the project monitoring and evaluation activities
  • Prepare and submit Case Stories to the Communication Officer and Project officer
  • Maintain adequate records of activities, reports and baseline data of the project area; and working closely with project M&E officer
  • Conduct regular supportive supervision to project implementing schools in close collaboration with school administration and teachers
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Job requirements

.

Qualifications & Knowledge: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in health discipline, business, social science or any related field of study
  • Experience and practical engagement in human-centered design
  • Two Years of demonstrated experience in Youth Leadership, Youth clubs and Volunteering
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and networking skills

Skills and Attitudes: 

  • Ability to work with minimum or no supervision;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal & written);
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, & MS Outlook) and the Internet usage
  • Able to interact and manage people of diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Can foster an open trusting work environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-driven environment
  • Accepts accountability for work assigned and performed
  • Supports a customer-centered approach to programs, services, and systems;
  • Willing to travel to the field extensively
  • Be a team player and communicator
