Job Summery
1. Position Purpose and summary of Responsibilities
The Senior Project Manager (SPM) develops and implements strategies and work plans related to the project entitled “Improving Access to Reproductive Health and Rights Information and Services” project to ensure that the overall goals and objectives of the project are met. The SPM is responsible for planning and managing the implementation and execution of activities under the project following the agreement entered with the donor and Ministry of Health, which include community education, meaningful engagement of the youth, girls, women and other community members, ensuring women have access to comprehensive abortion care (CAC) and contraceptive (CC) services in the project areas etc. S/he provides technical guidance to staffs involved in the implementation of the project activities to ensure that service delivery objectives are met, including training in abortion care and family planning, ensuring the quality of services, avail intended services to target groups that include female factory workers, rural women, women with disabilities and SGBV survivors. The position will provide leadership and strategic direction to gender expert, community advisor, youth/adolescent lead, and regional team leaders; plan and coordinate technical inputs and supervise staff and consultants. This position works closely with the Country Director. S/he will also work closely with all team members in planning, implementing and assessing activities aimed at achieving country program goals/objectives.
2. Specific Responsibilities
Project Planning & Management
• The SPM provides leadership for planning and effective implementation of the project at the national level.
Responsible for integrating and leading activities of the various thematic areas and develop comprehensive annual work plans, work with finance manager to develop budgets, schedules, identifying and monitoring resources to ensure the overall project implementation is on track.
Responsible for coordinating the execution of project activities and budget utilization and reporting towards objectives and results.
Will work closely with the CD in the case of any needed project realignments or revised strategies.
As a member of the senior management team, represent the project team, contribute to the overall country program decisions, compliance/risk mitigation, and participate in business development activities.
Service Delivery Results
Work with appropriate staff and consultants, collaborating with government officials and private partners, to ensure that annual work plans are met, including:
•# of women in the different categories received information and services;
• # of providers trained;
• # of sites providing CAC/CC services which includes the introduction and roll out of self-care;
# of CAC and CC clients served,
• Availability of equipment and supplies; and
• Ensure quality of care systems are in place.
Work with appropriate staffs and consultants to produce and implement required training, community education, and development of IEC and other technical material as required.
Supervision
Supervise the work of staff and consultants under the project and provide them with adequate support and guidance including mentoring, development of annual plans, monitoring of progress and review of performance periodically, and sharing constructive feedback.
Documentation
Work with CD and Research, Monitoring and Evaluation (RM&E) unit to develop indicators and reporting systems to enable collection of required data to monitor and document the process and impact of interventions.
Ensure Ipas Global monitoring and tracking systems are implemented at project sites.
Work closely with the country RM&E team to ensure accuracy and reporting of data.

Job Requirement
Educational Requirements
A qualified medical doctor (MD), with master’s in public health (MPH) or other relevant fields
Experience/Expertise
A minimum of 15 years progressive experience in SRH coordination and leadership
Excellent skills in project management, including work planning, budgeting, work plan implementation and project monitoring
Other Qualifications
• Innovative/creative, team builder, communicator and excellent team player
• Interested, capable and willing to travel up to 30% of his/her time to project sites and provide onsite support and technical guidance
• Proven ability in managing and leading diverse staffs and partners
• A deep commitment to sexual and reproductive health and rights, especially in prevention of unwanted pregnancy and unsafe abortion
• Facilitation and training experience
• High integrity and attention to details
• Fluency in spoken and written English
