Position: Clinical Psychologist

About the role:

Lebeza is seeking a passionate and dedicated Clinical Psychologist to join our team in Tigray. In this crucial role, you will provide expert clinical care to individuals with mental health challenges, promoting healing and well being in our community.

Responsibilities:

• Client Care:

o Conduct comprehensive client assessments, utilizing a trauma-informed approach.

o Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, employing evidence-based therapeutic modalities.

o Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, fostering a safe and supportive environment.

o Manage client expectations and progress, providing ongoing support and motivation.

o Participate in case reviews and collaborate with the clinical team to ensure optimal patient care.

• Trauma-Informed Care:

o Implement trauma-informed practices throughout all aspects of client care.

o Provide psycho-education to clients and their families on the impact of trauma and/or patients diagnosis as well as prognosis

o Advocate for contextually sensitive and trauma-informed approaches within the clinic.

• Crisis Intervention and De-escalation:

o Be a highly skilled practitioner in de-escalation techniques for managing unstable and agitated clients

o Provide support to staff in safely de-escalating client distress.

o Develop and implement crisis intervention protocols for the clinic.

• Trainings and research:

o Stay current with the latest advancements in clinical psychology and trauma-informed care.

o Conduct various trainings on demand for organizations on=site and at selected venues

o Contribute to research initiatives and quality improvement efforts within the clinic.

• Collaboration and Communication:

o Communicate effectively with the main office regarding clinical issues, resource allocation, and program development.

o Collaborate with other mental health professionals and community organizations to provide comprehensive care.

o Participate in Mental Health for Health Professionals (MHHP) and other mental healthcare projects in Tigray.

Job requirements

Qualifications:

• BA. in Clinical Psychology

• State licensure to practice psychology in a relevant jurisdiction.

• Minimum 2 years of experience providing clinical care in a mental health setting,

• Fluent in Tigrinya

• Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based therapeutic modalities.

• Strong understanding of trauma-informed care principles and practices.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

• Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.

• Ability to work independently; manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Commitment to ethical practice and professional development.
