About The Project

Addis Ababa University Capacity Building and Mentorship Project (CBMP) in collaboration with Ministry of Health aims to build local capacity to transform health data quality, information use and promote digital health for evidence-based decision making in Addis Ababa City. The CBMP is supported by different partners.

Specific objectives of the project:

Improving data quality and transformation of health information system at subnational level

Improving the culture of data use for informed decision-making.

Transforming digital health and HIS at Health facilities

Improving the capacity of RHB and Zonal HDs on data analytics and evidence generation

Expediting the digitization process through engagement and partnership with local Universities

Build implementation science research capacity at universities and policy makers

Duties and Responsibilities of the project coordinator:

  • Plan and supervise the project implementation regularly.
  • Prepare annual, quarterly, and monthly plans.
  • Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly reports
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate capacity building trainings, mentorships, supervisions, review meetings and workshops
  • Monitor and evaluate the overall project activities.
  • Produce and support the preparation of regular financial and technical reports.
  • Document and archive all the technical and project documents.
  • Actively facilitate, participate and contribute to review meetings, partner forums and conferences.
  • Perform other duties assigned by CBMP Director

Location: Addis Ababa (with possible travel to regions for meetings)

Employment: Contract

Contract: Full time for 1 year with possible extension based on performance

Job requirements

.

Education

  • Master’s degree in public health, health informatics, project management (health related), health service management, monitoring and evaluation (health targeted), and related fields.

Experience

  • At-least five (5) years of proven work experience , at least two years of experience in the area of HIS
  • Experience in project coordination,

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in team.
  • Excellent organizing and prioritizing skills and attention to detail.
  • Computer skills – Knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, spreadsheet and data analysis software such as SPSS and STATA
  • Ability to represent the project in any platforms.
  • Fluency in spoken English,
  • Ability to write good reports

Language Proficiency

  • Fluency in English and Amharic languages.
