Job Description

With funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs-Ethiopia (CCP/Ethiopia) is conducting implementation research to develop and test prototype solutions that optimize uptake of institutional delivery, antenatal care and Iron Folic Acid (IFA) supplementation by vulnerable pregnant women. CCP developed prototype solutions using a Human Centered Design and would like to test into four woredas in Oromia Region (two intervention and two control woredas). CCP is looking for 30 female data collectors and 10 supervisors who will conduct field level data collection in the study woredas.

Terms of employment: Short term (15-20 days)

Workplace: Data collection at the assigned study woredas in Oromia region

Reporting to: Field supervisors and CCP Senior RME Specialist

Roles and responsibilities: data collectors

  • Participate in training of data collectors and supervisors for five days;
  • Establish fresh list of pregnant women in sampled EA
  • Recruit study participants as per the study protocol
  • Administer consent with eligible study participants
  • Conduct interviews with sampled individuals in local language
  • Closely work with field supervisor and CCP/RME team

Job Requirements

 

Requirements for data collectors

  • At least BA/BSc degree in health or social science fields with at least three quantitative data collection experience
  • Have renewed consultancy license and receipt
  • Knowledge of Afaan Oromo is a must

Roles and responsibilities: supervisors

  • Participate in training of data collectors and supervisors for five days;
  • Demarcate sample EA areas
  • Supervise listing of pregnant women in sampled EA
  • Recruit study participants that meet recruitment criteria
  • Supervisor consent process and data quality
  • Closely work with field supervisor and CCP/RME team

Requirements for supervisors (Mandatory)

At least MSc/MA degree in health or social science fields with at least five quantitative filed supervision experiences

Have renewed consultancy license and receipt

.
