Job Description
MISSION
Under direct supervision of the Gambella ST-MC project manager, the physiotherapist will provide Stimulation therapy for U5 severely malnourished children in phase 2 of recovery, admitted to the Action Against Hunger nutrition stabilization center of Nguenyyiel refugee camp. He will be based in Gambella with daily professional travels to the Nguenyyiel refugee camp.
The physiotherapist will be coached and supervised on the job over the project implementation period and further capacitated with additional training from available platforms and technical mission arrangements.
Number of required person: One physiotherapist
The main stakes of the post are:
· Makes subjective and objective assessments of patients with regard to impairments, function, patient goals, and social situations.
· Based on assessment, identify problems and make treatment plan with the beneficiary.
· Carries out stimulation therapy treatments U5 SAM/MAM children admitted in stabilization Centre (phase 2 ) and other nutrition departments.
· Ensure good communication with beneficiary at all times throughout assessment, setting of goals and explanation of treatment.
· Ensure that physiotherapy equipment is kept safe and if repair is needed, facilitates the maintenance thereof and compile information.
· Other duties as assigned by line manager
· Reporting as required by project indicators and participate in project evaluation.
Job Requirements
Qualification: BSc in physiotherapy degree from recognized University with at least 5 years of Physical rehabilitation practice particularly in dealing with children.
The physiotherapist will have the following attributes:
· Willingness and ability to work in in an environment where entertainment facilities are limited and with movement restrictions.
· Work experience with persons and children with disabilities are added value.
· Experience in capacity building of partners in identification of children/persons with disabilities and referring them to service providers.
· Knowledge of the project location culture and norms are added value.
· Resilient to stress and challenging weather conditions.
· Experiences of working with children as a physiotherapist and who can demonstrate his skills in a real-time application if needed.
SKILLS
· Have basic computer skills in MS Word, excel and PPT.
· Have good communication skills and flexible to execute tasks related to his position based on the project context.
· Be able work in a team and ability to adapt to existing work environment easily.
· Have commitment to respect the organization’s values and rules.
