Job description
.
Position Overview:
The data manger will be responsible for establishing and maintaining data base for project activities. The data manager monitors the data collection process, assures quality, and timeliness of various project data and prepares for continuous data analysis and report.
Major duties and responsibilities:
Research Support:
- Plan and monitor project activities that are specified to data management and use.
- Review the questionnaires, interview guides and participate in finalizing survey instruments (questionnaires and manuals);
- Develop and execute SOP, guidelines, and data standard protocols, training modules and pilot projects to guarantee database quality control, data management and data compliance.
- Assist data collectors, supervisors and regional coordinators in using survey templates to collect data
- Ensure the data management process always have documentation that is regularly updated and reported to the project team and managers
Data management:
- Monitor and coordinate the data collection process and ensure data quality
- Consolidate data from all data collectors and prepare simple data summary sheets for monitoring.
- Ensure data quality and accuracy, including developing and implementing data validation procedures
- Download data from the database and prepare appropriately formatted data Excel/CSV files.
- Design, test and implement information systems and data tools such as mobile data collection tools like ODK, KOBO
- Coordinate surveillance data on BHSS monthly basis
- Manage data security and privacy, including compliance with regulatory requirements
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Conduct data analysis using appropriate statistical software and methodologies
- Participate in the write-up of survey reports
- Interpret and present research findings, including assisting with the preparation of research reports, presentations, and publications
- Develop and implement data visualization tools and dashboards
- Support technical team in preparation of reports
- Ensure proper documentation of project activities
- Document key findings, best practices, recommendations and learning from the implemented projects.
Coordination and collaboration
- Develop/improve internal data management processes so that the internal quality control steps and results are documented.
- Design and establish a database and reporting system for the project activities.
- Provide training on data management and software.
- Coordinate surveillance data on BHSS.
- Develop appropriate strategies and tools to build capacity to strengthen data quality assurance and data use.
- Assist with other association-related tasks as needed.
- Support team members in their day-to-day duties

Job requirements
Qualifications:
- MSc/Mph in public health, epidemiology and biostatistics, demography, Public Health or any other related fields with a good computer-based background from a recognized university
- 2 years of work experience in public health research and data management
- Strong knowledge of research methodologies and statistical analysis.
- Strong knowledge of local and international research ethics
- Advanced skill in statistical analysis tools in Microsoft Excel, EPIinfo, SPSS, R, STATA
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to maintaining high research standards.

Job Type: 6 months Contractual with possible extension
Employment Type: Full-time with frequent travel to the field.
