Job description

 

Jerusalem Children and Community Development Organization (JeCCDO) is an indigenous NGO that has been working on children and community development issues in Ethiopia for more than three decades. In partnership with and the funding horn Plan International Ethiopia (PIE), JeCCDO is implementing a project on “Strengthening of Self•reliance Local Integration and Social Cohesion of IDPs, Returnees and Host Communities in Amhara Region” with special focus on Promotion of Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) for Youth. The project is being implemented in Gagita Lekuma, Gungua and Chagni woredas Awi Zone in Amhara Region.

The project implementation is planned to take a total duration Of three years. In connection with this project, JeCCDO has the vacancy for the following position and invites qualified candidates to apply.

Job Title: Project Officer

Number Needed 1 (one)

Major Duties:

• Coordinate the overall planning and implementation of the project at the respective Woreda

• Coach and supervise Community Workers assigned at the target Woreda

• Organize Trainings, Workshops and Seminars for target groups and Stakeholders at Woreda level

• Establish and manage effective partnership and collaboration among project Stakeholders.

• Prepare and submit regular and progress reports to the Project Coordinator stationed in Bahr Dar.

• Conduct close monitoring and follow up on the implementation and outcomes of the project in the respective woredas

• Document and share the processes and lessons of the project

Job requirements

Required Qualification, Experience and Skills

Qualification: At least B A degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or Related fields.

Experience: Minimum of four years relevant experience in working on similar or related projects Experience in NGOs is an advantage.

Required Skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skill

• Ability to mobilize and coordinate and work with diverse Stakeholders and Community Groups at grassroots level

• Adequate knowledge and awareness on child protection, reproductive health issues including national, regional and international policies and frameworks.

• Good command of English and Amharic Languages both speaking and writing Knowledge of the local language (Awigna)

• Motor bike riding license is also required.

Duty station. Fagita Lekuma Woreda, Addis kidan town with frequent travels to the target Kebeles in the Woreda.

Condition of employment: One year contract with possibility of extension based on performances and continuity of the project

Salary. Negotiable
