Job description
The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a Workforce Nutrition Associate to lead the implementation of GAIN interventions on workforce nutrition in Ethiopia. This role will be on a 40 months’ fixed-term contract, subject to availability of funding. This position will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people. About the Role
Reporting to the BDFA Project Manager, you will be directly responsible for the effective implementation of GAIN interventions on workforce nutrition through assessing the landscape analysis, suggesting detail intervention plans and directly implementing that component of BDFA project under the guidance of the Project Manager.
The Workforce Nutrition Associate will also collaborate with the Workforce Nutrition team for the development of workforce nutrition strategy and establishment of workforce nutrition alliance as well as other workforce nutrition intervention in the industrial parks, large scale farms and other potential institutions.
The post-holder will be expected to quickly develop strong relationships with relevant partners, exploiting synergies within GAIN and with external stakeholders to ensure continued, effective, and timely project delivery. You will be responsible for influencing stakeholders towards the workforce nutritional needs and improving dairy consumption.
Key Responsibilities include;
- Conducting regular field visits to ensure project progress is on track and risk mitigation plan is up to date
- Responsible for the overall reporting of the BDFA workforce nutrition progress for the government and donor submission as well as for the GAIN internal requirements
- Ensuring accurate and timely utilization of the funds related to BDFA workforce nutrition interventions
- Coordinating with project partners including employers, dairy suppliers, and other implementing partners towards BDFA workforce nutrition interventions
- Supporting the development of detailed plan for the implementation of Workforce Nutrition in line with available resources
- Providing technical support to dairy suppliers for quality and safe dairy supply to workforces or supplying institutions
- Ensuring appropriate market linkage of dairy products between dairy suppliers and workforces
- Supporting the development of appropriate communication materials, technical documents, advocacy briefs and related materials to drive key project activities
Job requirements
About You
The ideal candidate should have demonstrable field experience with suppliers, vulnerable communities or workers in supply chains. You should also have practical work experience in dairy, nutrition, sustainability programmes, and / or relevant social sector programmes and have demonstrated success in being part of multi-disciplinary teams, engaging with government and private sector stakeholders and collaborators in challenging programme environments.
The postholder should have communication and negotiation skills, and proven ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment. You should have the ability to present information to a diverse audience and is highly flexible and willing in travelling to field sites. Candidate with degree or above in Business Administration / Agribusiness and Supply Chain / Logistic and Supply Chain Management / Dairy Technology / Nutrition or related field is desirable.

The starting salary on offer for this role is from ETB 498,696 – ETB 570,456 per annum, depending on experience.
