About the role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of a significant Trachoma Elimination Program, across 16 zones in the Oromia region.  The Trachoma Elimination Program has a well-established and robust (SAFE) framework, which emphasizes the need to address and manage environmental factors as well as treating those already infected. This position has been created to provide specific support and expertise in the areas of Water and Sanitation, an integral part of the program which will ensure long term and sustainable outcomes in Oromia.

 

Key responsibilities & outcomes

  • The NTD WASH Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of all program activities including planning, design, implementation, expansion/development and administration related to the WASH interventions of WASHTra and ASCEND projects.
  • The NTD WASH Coordinator will work to the integration of F&E with S &A activities to make sure implementation of the full SAFE strategy.
  • The NTD WASH Coordinator will regular supervise and monitor the overall program and provide technical support to Cluster Offices and Zonal partners in planning, implementation, monitoring and tracking indicators of F&E Program components.
  • The NTD WASH coordinator will facilitate, provide F&E related basic training and on-job trainings to program partners as need.
  • The NTD WASH Coordination will work closely with external partners to ensure appropriate integration of key activities as well as working as part of the broader FHF Ethiopia programs team to ensure the success of the overall program.
  • Together with the project manager ensures and monitors that projects are implemented as planned and within budget in accordance with GO and humanitarian policies and guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain partnership and networking with Regional and Zonal Health Bureau and partners and actively involved at every process and events conducted at Regional level
  • The WASH coordinator will compile, records, documents and provide program operational report, periodic field visit reports and other reports.
  • Performs out other assignments as may be required and as directed by the immediate supervisor

Job Requirements:

 

About You

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Health, Environmental Health or Sanitary Science or related fields from a recognized institution
  • Previous experience in program coordination, specifically in the areas of Water and Sanitation (minimum of 4 years’ experience)
  • Extensive experience working for an international development or community based organizations.
  • Extensive experience in managing outcomes through partners
  • Proven success in implementing new projects
