EducationUSA is a U.S. Department of State network of over 430 international student advising centers in more than 175 countries and territories.
The network promotes U.S. higher education to students around the world by offering accurate, comprehensive, and current information about opportunities to study at accredited postsecondary institutions in the United States. EducationUSA also provides services to the U.S. higher education community to help institutional leaders meet their recruitment and campus internationalization goals. EducationUSA centers are located in U.S. embassies and consulates, Fulbright commissions, bi-national centers, universities, and non-profit organizations.
The U.S. Embassy is proud to offer EducationUSA advising services free of charge. If you are interested in studying in the United States and would like advice, you can speak with our EducationUSA advisor regarding the steps necessary to study in the U.S.


Specifically, we can assist you with:-
  • test preparation materials
  • school selection and
  • help you identify sources of financial assistance.
  • We can answer your questions about undergraduate and graduate study, the application and admission process.
  • We advise students through group sessions, high school and university outreach visits, fairs, individual consultations, e-mail, phone, and social media. Our center also welcomes U.S. university visits to Ethiopia and will assist in organizing sessions at schools and American corners.

How to Apply

Out of precaution to minimize the potential spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), the Center is closed temporarily for in-person visits. Please send us an e-mail at if you would like to attend our virtual group advising session or book an individual consultation time.
