(Neuro-GAP) Project
The Neuropsychiatric Genetics in African Populations (Neuro-GAP) Project at Department of Psychiatry, College of Health Sciences would like to recruit research staff for position listed below.
Position
1. Research Assistant
Duties and responsibilities
*Ensure research ability to give consent
*Explain and address all ethical concerns of the research
participants.
*Take and document consent from those willing
to take part in the study
*Emsure the availability and safe keeping of the barcodes and sample collection kit
*Assign each participant a unique ID (barcode) to be posted on their consent form, sample kit and required
forms.
*Ensures participants eligibility to give samples.
*Provide appropriate collecting kit with individual ID for each participant.
* Report the number ofpatients approached and recruited
on timely bases.
Job Requirement
*BA degree in Psychology or BSC in Psychiatry Nursing.
*At least 2 years of experience working in clinical
research settings as research Personnel team member
preferably in taking consent or processing intake.
*Training on research ethics is an advantage.
*Strong organizational and documentation skills.
*Computer literacy.
*Strong interpersonal skills to work in teams
