MSF Holland is looking for: MEDICAL COORDINATOR SUPPORT · Number of Position: one · Place of work: Addis Ababa
· Terms of employment: One year with possibility of extension
· Remuneration and Benefits:
– Starting gross salary/month: 30,614.00 ETB/month
– Medical Coverage : as per organizational scale
– Transportation allowance: 1,800 ETB/month
– Market allowance: 6,000 ETB/month

Main Purpose Supporting the Medical Coordinator through delegated tasks and responsibilities including administrative tasks related to the coordination of work, ensuring good relationships with local and national authorities and ensuring adequate program management in the projects, according to MSF protocols, (para)medical standards, rules of hygiene and the standard precautions in order to ensure the delivery of quality medi-cal care for patients and their communities as well as to improve the health conditions of the targeted population. Accountabilities • Monitoring, supervising and evaluating the implementation of medical quality standards as per MSF protocols, (para) medical standards, the rules of hygiene and universal precautions in service through frequent field support visits • Provide medical support in clinical case management/discussions to project teams if necessary
• COVID: responsible for implementation and fu of COVID IPC/treatment in mission as well as for proper fu of COVID staff infections
• Development, implementation/update of referral processes in mission as per context
• HR support: Supporting and participating in HR management of the medical team in the capital as assigned by the Medical Coordinator (recruitment, training, monitoring their work, vacation planning, assessments, etc.).
• Performing other duties at the request of Medco (exceptional strengthening of a field team, involvement in evaluations, etc.)
• MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
• Medical quality monitoring/Implementation:
• Monitoring, supervising and evaluating the implementation of medical quality standards as per MSF protocols, (para) medical standards, the rules of hygiene and universal precautions in service through frequent field support visits
• Responsible for regular updating and implementing new MSF protocols and guidelines in mission as per HQ requirements
• Responsible for regular checking on new guidelines/ updates of guidelines in MSF PH department
• Be referral point for medical/clinical questions/case discussions in collaboration with the Medco if necessary
• Responsible for regular mortality review reporting in the mission
• Responsible for medical incident reporting in the mission
• Project referrals/referral policy:
• Development, implementation/update of referral processes/policy in mission as per context
• Ensuring patient meet referral criteria before giving final approvals to project
• Ensuring medical follow up of patients (treatment, improvement) in collaboration with the medical referent of the health structure and overseeing all medical expenses associated with the patient, in collaboration with the supervisors. Organize the administrative and medical information (reports, ongoing treatments), the discharge of patients and return to their homes
• Staff health:
• Responsible for updating of national health policy on a regular basis in collaboration with Medco and legal/HR department
• Responsible for implementation of proper National staff health procures in the projects and coordination
• Applying the employee health policy and participating in the evaluation of hospital structures that can serve as reference structures for national and international staff on a regular basis
• Participating in the medical monitoring of MSF personnel and overseeing all medical expenses associated with various consultations and hospitalizations in collaboration with the line manager
• Regular managing and overseeing the CAP of employees in close collaboration with finance department
• Responsible for regular sick leave counter checking and reporting of sick leave approvals for MSF employees
• Responsible for medical and financial follow up of staff referrals to Addis Ababa
• Responsible for referral fu of staff to DMIs
• Responsible for reporting/fu and guidance of PMRS in handling of work related accidents including accidental blood exposures as per MSF standards
• COVID
• follow up of COVID infected MSF staff and their status/evolvement from diagnosis to discharge
• responsible for supervision/implementaiton of IPC measures iwthin the mission inlcuding coordiantion office
• Responsible to give regular update reports to staff health unit and Medco on COVID infections in the mission
• be on top of latest MSF COVID treatment guidelines and policies
• together with Medco ensure implementation of newest COVID guidelines and policies in mission
• HR support:
• Supporting and participating in recruitment, training, and assessment of staff if necessary
• Participating in briefings and debriefings of the (para) medical team members and promoting communication and active participation in the development of the project if necessary
• Responsible for briefing/debriefing of IS staff on general health/ staff health procedures in the mission
- Job Requirements:

Education · Medical Doctor diploma with valid Professional Practicing License · Training in tropical medicine essential
· Training in Public health desired
Experience · Minimum of 2 years work experience as a practicing MD · Minimum of 1 year work experience within a MSF facility essential
Languages · Excellent command of English. · Excellent skills in reading and writing of the Amharic language, knowledge of Somali language is an advantage
Knowledge · Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet) · Knowledge of key national & international public health issues and clinical topics relevant to MSF (e.g., HIV, malaria, kala azar, TB)
· Strong effective communicator in writing, project representations and in interpersonal communication
· Computer literacy: WORD, and Excel are essential, Epi-info and FUCHIA programme skills are advantageous
· Good written skills, with proven ability in report writing (medical reports, assessment reports etc.,)
· Excellent communication skills; ability to motivate and lead medical colleagues
· Excellent clinical skills and ability to mentor/coach medical staff
· Coaching and supervision experience very advantageous; management/team leadership experience a definite plus
